Hi! Welcome to my blog. I’m Simon. I’m a trans man. I’m in my mid 30s though I look much younger than I am, and I spent my life as an active Mormon until I came out as a lesbian in 2020.
I come from a giant Mormon family. There are 13 kids, all the same mom and dad, no twins, etc. My crazy parents had 13 individual children and they may have known by the time I came around (child 10) that I wasn’t going to be what they hoped for, but they definitely didn’t see my life panning out the way it has.
My parents were/are very conservative. My dad is still alive and he sees me as his broken daughter. He straight up told me he doesn’t expect he’ll ever see me as his son. His response is better than what I expect my mom would have done had she been alive when I came out.
My mom… Well, lets just say she’s the reason I didn’t come out sooner. I’m sure we’ll talk about that at some point in time but she basically told me it would be better to die than be queer, so I have that going for me.
Despite my background, I came out anyway because I was done hiding in the shadows. I was done breaking myself to make others happy. I wanted to be happy of my own merit and I’ve found that.

I have a beautiful life now. I live with my gf Zoe and our dog Astro in Charlotte, NC, though we’re looking at moving to Utah at the end of the year. I’m living a happily ever after that I never dreamed was possible. The Universe keeps shouting at me that I should dream bigger dreams, so I’m trying. I’m trying to think it’ll get better than this.
I’ve rarely asked for much. I’m normally pretty content with what little I’ve been given. But I’ve always had big dreams. Dreams that could fill books and there have been a few times, like becoming a foreign exchange student in Germany my senior year of high school, where I’ve made those dreams a reality.
I’m a big believer that life is largely what you make of it so my goal for the next year of my life (my 36th year) is to create opportunities for growth and happiness. This means I’m going to be doing many of the things that I put on the back burner in the past. It’s time to jump into the unknown and make a beautiful life for myself. This website is where I’m going to document the journey and talk about my experiences.
I’m a massage therapist, reiki master, tarot reader, and a bit of jack of all trades when it comes to things creative. I like to make new things and see beauty in the mundane. I love writing and I draw and paint for fun. I also crochet and play creative world building video games like the Sims 4 and ACNH. I also enjoy reading.
What do you want to know about me? What adventures do you think I should put on my bucket list? I’d love to hear your suggestions.
